Rain, Rejoice
by Le roi et la reine

if I were a raindrop
my whole being would live
for the moment I fell
upon his upturned face

to hang trembling
on his dark lashes
or trace my slow path
down his cheek

or be part of the shower
shaken from his dark locks
as he rejoices
in summer’s cooling rain

No End
by Margaret Clark

It ebbs, flows,
Fades and grows,
But no end it knows
My love for you

Orion by Margaret Clark

Orion Starry Muse
by Dawn Boeder Johnson

Star-laced sky spreads overhead;
bejeweled with
untold imagination,
it whisks from western veil
still tinged with indigo
from sun’s last setting.
Mighty constellations roam,
appearing out of midnight mist
to taunt us with longing for ancient days
when majestic names
were thrust upon them.

Sparkling with the splendor of distant suns,
The Hunter rises from Celestial Equator.
With sword gleaming,
he traverses the world’s sky
in search of prey.
A luminary within a field of stars,
Orion hunts
by the soft glow of moonlight.
Millions of miles distant or
just a breath away…
he waits brave and expressionless.

Out of reach, teasing,
Taurus and Lepus glint,
daring him to wield his sword.
While within me,
Orion entreats the mind’s eye
to tell stories of  slaying,
or a thousand other tales
that drift from the distant cosmos
to stir my naked mind.

Whisper in my dreams,
Orion Starry Muse,
shower me with the stardust of the ages.
